It’s unbelievable but former President Jimmy Carter has outdone himself this time:

While in Colombia, former President Jimmy Carter told an interviewer that the Bush administration “could have been involved” in the 2002 coup attempt against Venezuelan wanna-be dictator Hugo Chavez. Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez is proposing a new round of attack on media outlets not yet under government control. Under the proposed new rules, any media outlets that criticize Chavez or his policies could be subject to criminal prosecution in addition to their loss of broadcast licenses.MORE

While attending the Progressive Governance Summit of leaders from Latin America, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said the White House does not plan to lift its embargo on Cuba.

President Barack Obama will face pressure to make more concessions to Cuba when he attends the Summit of the Americas, which opens in Trinidad and Tobago today.

Obama, who flew to Mexico City today en route to the summit, eased travel and other restrictions between the US and Cuba on Monday.MORE
