You can read my latest post for David Horowitz‘s NewsRealblog here.

Today is the day that Americans commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Dr. King was a real American hero. Without his passion and commitment to racial equality and justice, it would have undoubtedly taken African Americans many years more to be treated equally. In the end, he paid the ultimate price for holding the very American belief that “all men are created equal.”

The whole blogosphere is paying tribute to this great man today. Most remarkable about these posts is that conservative commentators tend (some don’t) to praise the man and his accomplishments and leave it at that, while many leftist bloggers try to use Dr. King to advance their own, radical agenda; an agenda, Dr. King did not share.

Read the whole thing here.

On his increasingly popular Fox News show yesterday, host Glenn Beck talked about labor unions, “Cadillac Health Plans” and socialists. As usual, Beck explained wonderfully what these people are trying to do and why you should be worried about it.MORE

This article on China and Russia by Professor Barry Rubin, is the most interesting analysis of international politics I’ve read this week:

China is very much motivated toward development rather than ideology or geopolitical ambition. It wants to get along with everyone as much as possible and make lots of money.MORE

It’s utterly insane,  but Governor Sarah Palin sold one million copies of her memoirs “Going Rogue: An American Life” in just two weeks time.

HarperCollins spokeswoman Tina Andreadis said Tuesday that just two weeks after publication, Sarah Palin’s memoir has sold 1 million copies.MORE

And I’m only half joking:

President Hugo Chavez’s government has nationalized two coffee processors and is planning to purchase a majority stake in a third as it moves to assert greater control over Venezuela’s strictly regulated food sector…

It never ceases to amaze me that so many people refuse to learn from the past.MORE

The Jerusalem Post reports that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Thursday that Iran will not retreat “one iota on [its] nuclear rights.” He added that he was extremely happy that the West, and especially the U.S., seems to grow to agree with him.MORE

Via Conservatives4Palin comes this article at the Wall Street Journal (of all places), about Arizona Senator (and the GOP’s presidential nominee last year) John McCain‘s appearance on MSNBC‘s “Meet the Press” earlier today.MORE

Harvard-trained historian Richard F. Miller, author of In Words and Deeds: Battle Speeches in History, wrote a guest post for Jules Crittenden’s blog about President Barack Obama’s West Point speech. His assessment: it a “midst of war” speech, and not a good one.MORE

Donny Deutsch is host of The Entrepreneurs, a primetime special profiling the success stories of America’s entrepreneurs on CNBC. I thought I would introduce him to you because I didn’t know who he was until he appeared on MSNBC‘s “Morning Joe” today, and I assume you haven’t heard of him before either.MORE

In my latest post for David Horowitz’s NewsReal, I comment on David Frum’s announcement that he will change the name of his website from New Majority into Frum Forum. It was, I write, ‘illustrative of the conservative intellectual’s major problem:MORE

This is an excerpt of my latest post for Hot Air.

Tory leader David Cameron has caused somewhat of a controversy in Britainby saying he does not want former Prime Minister Tony Blair to become president of the European Union. Is there a president of the EU, you might ask? Why no, not as of yet, but Brussels has decided it should have more power and that, in order to have it, it also needs to have its very own president.MORE
