Once again proof that laborites really have no idea how to counter a major economic recession: Dutch Labor (PvdA) Member of Parliament and Labor leader Mariëtte Hamer wants the government coalition – of which her party is a member – to accept a bill that would decrease the regular work week to four days.

The moderate socialist believes that this measure will help counter the crisis and, of course, rising unemployment. After all, if everybody is forced to work four days in a week instead of five, an unemployed person can take over the other, remaining day. Perhaps you can even encourage that previously unemployed individual to work Saturdays as well! What a great, great plan!

Sadly, a four-day work week means that Dutchmen will earn 20% less.MORE

Shortly after a 38-year old man staged an attack on the Dutch Royal Family on a national holiday called Queen’s Day, our own Joshua Livestro wrote a post about the matter, wondering whether it was an accident or whether the driver meant to kill innocent bystanders and, perhaps, even the royal family itself.

The economic plan put forth by the Dutch government has lots in common with the one accepted by Democrats in the U.S.: future generations will have to work years if not decades in order to pay off the debt accumulated by those in power today.MORE

The Dutch have – finally - joined the battle against Somali pirates. Earlier today, the Dutch navy announced it captured seven priates and freed 20 of their captives:
