Happy Independence Day to all of our American readers! 235 years ago today 13 colonies announced their intention to separate from Great Britain, and fight the injustices committed against them.

On this day, I always know that, despite disagreements on the particulars, ultimately all Americans stand for the same basic rights.  That, whatever differences we may have, we all recognize what this day stands for.
