Mr. President, I’m sure you know it much better than we do, but your Vice President is a loose canon.  In the space of about 12 hours, he made two very bad remarks. First, he reportedly described Tea Party Republicans as terrorists. That has now spawned an entire following, particularly on Twitter, where liberals are using it in spades.  Fine.  We can take a little name calling.  Worse has been said about conservatives (who remembers former Rep. Alan Grayson’s “die quickly”?)

Then, less than 12 hours later, he was boasting about a joke he used on Gabby Giffords, the Arizona Democrat who returned to Congress this week for the vote, saying she’s joined the “cracked head club.”  If you recall, Mr. President, Rep.
