Conservatives used to criticize the media, and not just for its liberal bias.

There once was a vocal argument coming from the right — from culture war stalwarts like Bill Bennett — that the media’s focus on sex and violence coarsened our culture. They argued that when too much attention was given to someone who committed a crime or was of low morals, it risked turning them into a celebrity or an icon. The media catered to the lowest common denominator and brought everyone down into the mud with it. More importantly, the distraction prevented the public from being informed about important policy issues. There was a “dumbing down of America” going on.

Then came Fox News.

Neil Cavuto did regular stories on lingerie football and Victoria Secret shows.MORE

Via Hot Air, The Right Sphere’s Brandon Kiser argues that Media Matters’ focus of their attacks on Fox News, means that the site should reconsider its IRS 501(c)(3) status:

The cutesy-sounding mission of Media Matters to “correct conservative misinformation” is no longer even remotely appropriate.MORE

Fox news reports:

A former Guantanamo Bay inmate is leading the fight against U.S. Marines in the Helmand province of Afghanistan, a senior U.S. defense official confirmed to FOX News on Tuesday.

Mullah Zakir, also known as Abdullah Ghulam Rasoul, surrendered in Mazar-e-Sharif in Northern Afghanistan in 2001, and was transferred to Gitmo in 2006.MORE

David Frum has been criticized a lot lately due to his somewhat strange habit to go after fellow conservatives. The criticism was well-deserved.

Today, he deserves to be praised, however:MORE

Fox News launched the Fox Nation today, a new website, in many ways similar to Huffington Post. Be sure to visit this site on a daily basis – it’s updated almost constantly, and features a lot of breaking and ‘most talked about’ news. Of course, Fox Nation is heavily biased, but so is Huffington Post.

Fox is doing what Andrew Breitbart suggested conservatives should do:MORE

Former Governor of Alaska and the most prominent conservative woman in America, Sarah Palin, once again succeeded in taking her left-wing enemies in the media by surprise. How, you ask? Well, not only did she have the courage to defend Arizona’s tough new immigration law on an appearance earlier today on Fox News, but she even went so far as to say that all other border states should adopt the exact same law.MORE

Six days ago, I wrote a post about conservative bloggers waging war on each other. As I made clear in my article, I believe we (I don’t care whether you’re an American or a European conservative) all have to distance ourselves from racists, xenophobes, etc.

On the other hand, we should also accept and respect differences (of opinion).MORE

MSNBC drifted far to the left last year. Where it was once a (mildly) respected news outlet, only partisan Democrats appreciated its reporting during and after it had sold its journalistic soul in order to help get Barack Obama elected. Chris Matthews and even Keith Olbermann whenever an important were allowed to act like reporters rather than partisan pundits.MORE
