Texas Rep. Joe Barton created fury among Congressional Democrats and Republicans alike today when he described the Obama administration’s work with BP in creating a $20 billion escrow fund to help assist the local fisherman and other workers who are now out of work because of the oil spill as a “shakedown,” or, in other words, suggested the administration is extorting BP.
