Conservatives used to criticize the media, and not just for its liberal bias.

There once was a vocal argument coming from the right — from culture war stalwarts like Bill Bennett — that the media’s focus on sex and violence coarsened our culture. They argued that when too much attention was given to someone who committed a crime or was of low morals, it risked turning them into a celebrity or an icon. The media catered to the lowest common denominator and brought everyone down into the mud with it. More importantly, the distraction prevented the public from being informed about important policy issues. There was a “dumbing down of America” going on.

The liberal group contends that the audio portion of the video was obtained illegally because Maryland requires two-party consent to create sound recordings.MORE

Both are currently dominated by liberals.MORE

Although I expressed some disappointment last night toward Andrew Breitbart over his handling of the Shirley Sherrod video, I can certainly understand how the situation got like this.

By Breitbart’s own account on CNN this afternoon, he only received during the weekend the two videos that he posted on Monday, although he’s apparently known about them since March.MORE

Last weekend, Americans for Limited Government and NetRightNation.com hosted the first of many New Media events at the Union Pub in Washington, D.C. featuring internet entrepreneur, Andrew Breitbart, who spoke about the urgency for conservatives to embrace pop culture to ensure the survival of the conservative movement, and the Republican Party.

Breitbart knows what he’s talking about:MORE
