Appearing, he seems to become a regular guest, at MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” former Mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani said that the McCain campaign’s tone is “just right.”

“I think that John McCain is emphasizing the economy,” Giuliani went on to say.

“It has not been a good weekend for Governor Palin. In a 263-page report Alaskan officials said she abused the power of her office and that was an ethics violation.

“I don’t know, she has been on the national scene for a month, already has an ethnics violation?

“Who said she’s not ready for Washington?”

MSNBC’s Chuck Todd explained earlier today what John McCain needs to do in tonight’s debate. The main point, simple: “discredit Obama.” He has to convince voters that Obama will not be a good president. He is not ready for the presidency, McCain has to argue, his associations are too questionable, and his policies to liberal.

Whatever happens, Todd’s message is fairly clear: McCain needs a stellar performance. (more…)
