Democratic U.S. Representative from Florida Tim Mahoney is done for. Recent polls show that only 29% of his constituents plan to vote for him in November, against 55% who say they support his Republican challenger Tom Rooney.

Exactly ten days ago, October 9, a poll showed those numbers to be almost the exact opposite: Mahoney could count on 56% support then, and Rooney on only 31%. (more…)

In a speech delivered to be delivered on Friday, Senator John was set to criticize both the Obama campaign and media for going after a normal citizen, namely Joe Wurzelbacher. The media, McCain said, should not have treated “Joe the Plumber” as if he were a politician, who should be ‘vetted.’

“The McCain campaign has been criticizing voter registration efforts by the low-income advocacy group ACORN as an attempt to steal the election. The group registered 1.3 million voters in 2008, mostly young people, people of color and other working-class constituencies.MORE
