Interested :Not just resemble. Neo-conservatives first arose as a faction of the left. As for changing definitions, I think positions on defense bring up a weakness of a one-axis political spectrum. Heck, they bring up a weakness of a two-axis spectrum.neoconservatives tend to resemble liberals more than conservatives.
