
I was saddened to learn about the death of Apple founder and former CEO Steve Jobs. While I don’t use Apple products regularly, it’s without a doubt that the products I do use – namely, my Android phone – would not have been possible (at least, not as soon) without the innovations that Steve was responsible for. I think Jim Lakely has the best post out there on what he brought to the world:
Jobs set a new standard for how a personal computer should work — i.e., it should be as easy to use as nearly any other home appliance. The industry was forced to follow Jobs’ lead. His leadership in developing the iPhone completely changed the game — forcing competitors to quickly evolve beyond a device that flipped open to one that brought the entire digital world to one’s fingertips.| MORE
