I’m expecting a lot from disgraced former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich’s federal corruption trial, for which the jury selection started today.MORE

At News Real Blog, Lori Ziganto wants to return feminism to its roots by ripping out the scourge of identity politics and victimization found in its current brand:

You see, while “Feminists/Femisogynists” were busily pant suiting themselves and trying to become men, other women were out there annihilating the glass ceiling, by raising their families and learning through actual living and perseverance. We didn’t learn by trying to be something we are not, but rather we learned by living.MORE

Good news! Even though George W. Bush was succeeded as president by Barack Obama 1.5 years ago, our beloved left-wing mainstream media are somehow still able to blame him for just about every ill in the world. No kidding, they’re even holding him responsible for the announced divorce between former vice-president turned global warming warrior Al Gore and his wife Tipper.MORE

When I first heard about the incident on the flotilla heading for Gaza, I was not surprised to see the same old scripts being played both the supporters of both sides.MORE

There are many reasons to oppose New York Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf’s plans to building a mosque and “cultural learning center” two blocks away from Ground Zero.  The perception that you’re slapping the faces of 9/11 victims’ families is only one of them, and surely Imam Feisal has to know this when he began the project.  It’s poor judgment at best.MORE

As a kind of reply to Michael’s post, but also a reply to the general anger at the Obama administration’s response to the oil spill, I must say that I’ve been both scratching my head at some points and shaking my head (at the administration) at others. The administration certainly deserves some hits in a few areas, but I have to say that I’m surprised that even conservatives have been calling for a more active response to the crisis.MORE

Do you remember how ABC News, CNN, MSNBC, CBS and every other network were in love withBarack Obama back when he was still a mere senator campaigning for president? He could do no wrong. Well, all that has changed now that the Messiah has proved incapable of handling the BP oil spill:MORE

Let’s pretend you’re a member of the mainstream media. Let’s also pretend you’re actually objective and willing to do your job to the best of your ability. Finally, let’s pretend that the White House has declared on a woman who was governor of Alaska, but who’s currently nothing more than a TV commentator and FaceBook columnist. All she has to do to get their attention isto criticize them on national television, and before you know it they show true, sexist, face.MORE

I believe that it’s unfair to pretend that Rand Paul is a racist. When he committed the now infamous Civil Rights Act gaffe, I’m sure he didn’t mean to imply that he believes that African Americans are inferior and that segregation was mighty fine system.

No, this isn’t about racism – I don’t believe Paul to be a racist – but about libertarianism. Rand is quite doctrinaire. He believes in a literal interpretation of the constitution and, therefore, the tenth amendment.MORE
