I think CATO did a good job here, exposing Romney’s hypocrisy on slamming Obama for a health care plan that is not much different than his own. Going into the 2012 primaries, Republican Romney opponents would be wise to bring this up every chance they can.

The GOP released a video on Tuesday to whip up some emotion now that April 15 (the income tax return submission deadline in the U.S.) is here. The message is clear, even if the way it was presented was a little sensationalistic.

My favorite line: “SNEEZING…TAXED”
How about you? And what other things might Obama tax next? Replies in the comments should be made in the format of:| MORE

Hello everyone. I’ve created a kind of half-assed work around for the comment system, so it doesn’t appear halfway down the page anymore. It’s quick and dirty, but hopefully it’ll work until I come up with something that doesn’t rely on absolute positioning.
You may comment away now that you can actually find the form!

Oops, I guess Beck and me shouldn’t have assumed that CK’s interpretation of Paul Ryan’s speech was correct…

Welcome to our new home on the Internets, RATA. At Right Across The Atlantic, the old PoliGazette team will bring you opinion and analysis from a moderate to conservative perspective. We hope you’ll bookmark RATA just as you bookmarked PoliGazette.
PoliGazette itself will be used to track your and our favorite blogs and news websites. In other words, don’t delete it from your bookmarks: it’s going to be the best aggregator of moderate and conservative blogs in the entire blogosphere.

Hi folks. The site transitions are complete. I know there are/will inevitably be some buggy things. Like the Intense Debate comments being placed about halfway down the article pages. Unfortunately, they will have to wait to be fixed.
Why? Long story short, I spent far too much time tonight on this project. And will get far too little sleep.
Anyway, thank you for being very patient with us as we move forward with a new phase in our blogging operation.

Starting tomorrow PoliGazette will change considerably. Instead of being a blog, it will become the best (moderate) conservative aggregation site out there. We will track all our and your favorite blogs and news sites and update constantly, 24/7. Whenever these sites are updated, so is PoliGazette.
That’s good, of course, but what’s even better is that we’ll also specialize in videos. Sometimes we’ll host videos made by others but we will also – and mainly – produce our own videos.| MORE

Good news for Republicans: 66% of voters say that America is overtaxed. Rasmussen Reports:
When thinking about all the services provided by federal, state and local governments, 75% of voters nationwide say the average American should pay no more than 20% of their income in taxes. However, the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that most voters (55%) believe the average American actually pays 30% or more of their income in taxes.
Sixty-six percent (66%) believe that America is overtaxed. Only 25% disagree.| MORE

Our favorite talk show host Glenn Beck recently criticized Paul Ryan, for giving a speech in which he tried to rehabilitate progressives such as Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. Beck’s criticism came after he read this post over at the popular conservative Hot Air blog, in which Ryan is praised for being a “real progressive.” Unlike Ryan, Beck has little to no appreciation for the ideology of these former presidents, and rightfully so.| MORE

As a professional / full time blogger, it’s easy to get lost in the “news of the day” and forget why you’re doing what you’re doing. Today I received a book in the mail (thank you CATO Institute) by John Samples, “The Struggle to Limit Government.” Being a book junky if ever there was one, I started reading immediately. It only took me moments to realize that this book was exactly what I needed right now: it’s about liberty. Restoring it, defending it, promoting it, spreading it.
Watch this space for a review of Samples’ book.
