Many of the people who occupy these two buildings don't think much of our first amendment rights.

If there is anything that most represents what Restoring Honor is tomorrow, it is the two acts listed in the title: speech and prayer. Only in a country like ours can one man (and his team) surround a national monument with thousands of people in order to speak about restoring the country to its glory.

Yet, even as Restoring Honor happens, both our freedoms of speech and religion our under attack by elements in the government (almost all leftist) that would have us conform to their way of thinking. Here are some of the top ways we are losing the freedoms we cherish so highly:

• Speech codes at universities.
• Our elected officials suggesting that those who speak their minds should be investigated.
• Our top leaders suddenly increasing fees at the last moment before Restoring Honor.
• Officers ordering people to stop praying at national monuments, buildings, and other public areas.
• The display of religious symbols in the public arena.

There are many more examples, of course, but these are the ones that come to me right away.

If the leftists get their way, we won’t be able to say what we wish without incurring some sort of punishment, where it be a fine, jail time, or an investigation. If the leftists get their way, people won’t be able to practice their faith in public (and I’m coming at this as an atheist).

When you go to Restoring Honor tomorrow, or attend a Tea Party rally in the coming weeks, make sure to keep the above list in mind, because that is the danger we all face. We must never become complacent in the fight for these things, because if we do, we are liable to lose them.
