In Nancy Pelosi’s world, if you don’t agree with what she thinks about the Ground Zero mosque, the gubmint is going to come in and investigate your finances:
Earlier Wednesday, Pelosi told San Francisco’s KCBS radio that “there is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some.”
“I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded,” she said. “How is this being ginned up?”
It’s be one thing is she was being sarcastic, perhaps playing the rhetorical game as opponents of the mosque, who call for investigation into funding of the mosque itself. But that’s not what she’s doing here. She’s supporting intimidation by the government for those who merely have an opinion about the mosque.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives says that you should be charged with a crime (trumped up, no doubt) if you have an opinion she doesn’t like. We have a phrase for that in political speak: thought crime.
You know, I remember when Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) was accused of being the new McCarthy because she suggested the media ought to look into Congresspeople’s backgrounds to find out which of them were anti-American. But she’s got nothing on Nancy Pelosi, who really is an advocate for tyranny.
