Right Across the Atlantic Goes to Washington D.C.

That’s right. Right Across the Atlantic will be conducting its first field blogging event since we opened!

I’ll be attending Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor rally on August 28th.  Though Beck is promoting this as a non-partisan event, I still feel its worth covering, and I know other media will be there.  It’s going to be in front of the Lincoln Memorial for gods sake, so how could nobody cover it, right?

The website describes the event:

Throughout history America has seen many great leaders and noteworthy citizens change her course. It is through their personal virtues and by their example that we are able to live as a free people. On August 28, come celebrate America by honoring our heroes, our heritage and our future.

Join the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and many more for this non-political event that pays tribute to America’s service personnel and other upstanding citizens who embody our nation’s founding principles of integrity, truth and honor.

Our freedom is possible only if we remain virtuous. Help us restore the values that founded this great nation. On August, 28th, come join us in our pledge to restore honor at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC.

My current plan is to live Tweet during the event on the RATA account @ratatlantic, followed by a round-up post right here (and probably one at NewsReal Blog) after I find the nearest Wi-Fi hotspot (and I think I’ve located one, but if anyone knows what the closest to the Lincoln memorial is, let me know).

My major blogging efforts will be on Restoring Honor, but I’ll be heading to D.C. for a week, so I plan to do an entire series dedicated to the “Restoring Honor” theme. That’s because, unless you’ve been trapped under a rock for the past several years (that’s you, leftists), you know that there are many areas where America need to restore its honor. No more if that true than right now, where we see our liberties being stripped in favor of an ideology that is very unhonorable. I’ll be visiting a few area specifically dedicated to this theme (as well as a few that ought to be dedicated to it), so it’ll be good to flesh out the idea beyond what will happen on Saturday.

I hope you’ll join me and RATA as we do our part to restore honor to America next week.
