Here's one person who needs to establish some integrity.
integrity: Adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.

If there is one thing that is most egregious all of the things I’ve discussed this week show, it’s a loss of integrity on the part of our elected officials.| MORE

The Restoring Honor Rally yesterday brought thousands of people out to the Lincoln Memorial. I know that by the time I got there, there were people filling out the area beyond the treeline, and all the way up to the road. And if they weren’t all the way up to the Washington Monument, it was a close thing.
I’ll have a bit more of a meaty post up later at NewsReal Blog, but I just wanted to explain my position on Glenn Beck’s dream of taking back America via faith, hope, charity, and sacrifice.
In a word: yes.| MORE

Hey everybody! Just a quick reminder for today that we’ll be covering the Restoring Honor Rally LIVE from Twitter, and then right back here afterward.
- Join me on Twitter at @MikeWMerritt. I’ll officially start Tweeting at 10am, but depending on when I’m able to get to the Lincoln Memorial, I may start earlier.
- Stay tuned to Twitter or navigate here after the event (which ends at 2pm) for my wrap-up post, collecting my thoughts about what happened at the event.

Many of the people who occupy these two buildings don't think much of our first amendment rights.
If there is anything that most represents what Restoring Honor is tomorrow, it is the two acts listed in the title: speech and prayer. Only in a country like ours can one man (and his team) surround a national monument with thousands of people in order to speak about restoring the country to its glory.| MORE

This article will no doubt generate some disagreements, simply because people don’t share all the same exact values. In short, I do not share a belief in a god of any sort. Thus, I’ll refrain from discussing that religion-related hot button issues here, namely abortion and gay rights.
That said, I believe there are some areas conservatives can agree on, among them smaller government, lower taxes, and more personal freedoms. I’ll cover the last item tomorrow when I discuss freedom of religion and speech.| MORE

Maybe our leaders wouldn't feel the need to flout the law if we still had in place some of the implements featured in this museum.
When I write “justice,” I don’t mean the majority of justice that’s brought to criminals everyday. That, for the most part, still operates as intended. There’s always room for improvement, but it’s nothing that brings dishonor to this country.| MORE

Restoring Honor. What does that mean? Ask many different people and you’ll likely get many different answers. Perhaps somebody wants to restore their own honor after committing a blunder of some sort. Or perhaps that person would like to restore someone else’s honor that was undeservedly taken away.
In many parts of the world, and particularly in Eastern Asia, honor is often seen as something a family has earned, and is something that can be lost if a family member makes a mistake.| MORE

I have to be up early for my train ride down to D.C., so you’ll forgive me if I don’t post something with much meat on it tonight. I assure you, there will be a lot of good stuff coming this week. I’ll begin the week tomorrow with a general overview of what “Restoring Honor” means to me, and then throughout the week I’ll flesh out the concept amongst several different areas. I hope to cover a number of areas, among them:| MORE

It really is one of most peculiar things I’ve seen of late. One moment, Julian Assange is a suspect for rape and molestation charges, “arrested in abstentia” by Swedish authorities, because they don’t know where he is. The next day, the arrest warrant is revoked for lack of evidence.
So what’s going on here? Well, over the course of the last couple days, I’ve considered three theories:| MORE

In Nancy Pelosi’s world, if you don’t agree with what she thinks about the Ground Zero mosque, the gubmint is going to come in and investigate your finances:
Earlier Wednesday, Pelosi told San Francisco’s KCBS radio that “there is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some.”
“I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded,” she said.| MORE
