Tom Friedman hits the nail right on its head in his latest column for the New York Times. The liberal hawk summarizes recent events in the war on terrorism in the West – several wannabe terrorists were arrested recently at the moment they wanted to kill innocent citizens – after which he explains:
These incidents are worth reflecting on. They tell us some important things. First, we may be tired of this “war on terrorism,” but the bad guys are not.| MORE

Ed Morrissey talked to the Wall Street Journal‘s John Fund yesterday about Obama’s low approval ratings and his difficulty selling his health care reform plan to the public.
Fund told Morrissey that he believes that Obama’s major problem is that he doesn’t seem to understand that the public elected him “to fix the economy.” Last year’s elections weren’t about cap and trade, health care reform or the 2016 Olympics, but about jobs, about economic growth.

I just finished watching “Wanted,” a 2008 movie directed by Timur Bekmambetov and starring Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie. Most of you watched it last year, I’m sure; yeah, I’m Dutch, we’re a bit slow down here.

Reuters’ James Pethokoukis believes that U.S. President Barack Obama plans to raise taxes ASAP:
Obama’s campaign promise to not raise taxes on households making less than $250,000 a year was always considered a joke here inside the Beltway. It’s the economic “consensus” — and this was true even before the financial meltdown and recession — that rising entitlement costs would eventually mean a higher tax burden for the American people.| MORE

Remember how Nancy Pelosi cried foul when Republican Joe Wilson lashed out at Democrats? Oh, she appeared on all cable channels, decrying the horrible, nasty tone of the political debate in America. How terrible that a Republican called Democrats names.
So what does she do when one of her own tells voters Republicans just want them to die? Right:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says there’s no reason for Rep.| MORE
