Good news! It took the European Union a couple of decades and many years of socialist indoctrination, but it has finally been able to sign a treaty to collectively commit suicide.

Subject to formal endorsement in summit conclusions being prepared in Brussels, Europe has agreed to make a conditional offer to the rest of the world at global environment negotiations in Copenhagen in December…

Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, said the financial cost should not be included in the EU’s proposed package of ambitious climate change targets – at least not until other nations signal their readiness to pay their share.

But the summit text puts a 100 billion euros-a-year (£89.6 billion) price on curbing global warming by 2020, of which annual public funding is estimated at 22-50bn euros.(£19.7bn – £44.8bn.)

The EU’s combined share of that would be between 7-10bn euros (£6.2bn – £8.96bn) a year by 2020.

For the record, 100 billion euros is approximately 150 – 160 billion USD.

Ah well, I was pretty tired of life already, so it’s fine with me.

Read the whole thing at Hot Air.

Doomed "Europe is making three conditional offers - money on the table, saying we will do everything we can to make a climate change agreement happen, and help for developing countries into that agreement. I want you to pay special attention to the last part of the above sentence. AGW is agenda driven. The UN has a politica agenda with AGW. The science is BUNK. Perhaps global warming is happening. Perhaps its not. There is no doubt that historically we have been warming for 110,000 years now and that glacial ice has been melting. But all of that aside the real agenda that most of the AGW crowd has bought into..."HOOK, LINE and SINKER" is that the UN and the radical progressives want the redistribution of wealth FROM the developed, moderen and industrialized nations to these poorer and developing nations. What do you suppose is going to happen when we hamstring our own capacity to produce things? To generate ENERGY to be productive? Yes those jobs are going overseas folks. You think the exodus has been maddening in the last 30 years???? You ain't seen nothing yet. But at the cost of destroying the western civilizations capacity to create jobs, drive the worlds economy and maintain a standard of living, these deveolping nations will be PAID....yes PAID to relieve us of those functions. In the meantime all those green jobs that were promised us by the O Administration? Non existent. The money paid out to the green energy sector has gone to grants for more scientists to write more papers about how were all going to die if CO2 is not reduced xxx percent.

Doomed Alinsky in action. Any objection to anything said by the White HOuse is branded unpatriotic lies. Distortions and half truths. The speaker is attacked immediately and with ferocity. Any brand of dissent is seen as cowardly, unpatriotic rednecks who can't possibly understand the complexities of what our government wants to do for us. Any producing of evidence by equally brilliant scientists is Alinskized as BUNK bought and paid for by the oil industry. Any honest attempt to stop and discuss the facts is met with "The science is settled." THE ASSUMED CLOSE. The science is settled and now were going forward with the destruction of the American Economy as led by a radical Element of progressives who snuck into government for years just waiting for their Messiah to be handed the keys to the kingdom. All these Harry Reids and Nancy Pelosi's and John Murtha's have just been biding their time until the Chosen one arrived and now they have lowered their heads, put on their blinders and are full speed ahead into economic chaos. Is Obama the Antichrist.......Not hardly...he aint got enough brains for that job.

Jay_C Since Obama likes MIT so much, perhaps he should listen to Professor Richard Lindsen of MIT, before he does the same to the US.... Read the article and especially see figure 1.. http://climaterealists.com/index.php?id=3932 "Unsettled Science … and ‘Skeptic’ Momentum Lindzen and Choi findings could fundamentally shift the climate debate, especially when they are considered along side of the growing number of scientific publications (see references below) that have reached the same general conclusion—that the climate model determinations of the earth’s climate sensitivity are too large. No longer can low sensitivity estimates be brushed away as some silly notion dreamed up by climate change naysayers; instead, they must be taken seriously, especially in light of the earth’s recent recalcitrance to warm at the rate projected by climate models for the early 21st century. These results should factor prominently in any discussions aimed at trying to limit projected future warming by reducing greenhouse gas emissions as they make a strong case that such actions would be a waste of time and effort. Jay_C Maybe the American people are actually starting to ask questions rather than supportingthe hype.. http://people-press.org/report/556/global-warming "Fewer Americans See Solid Evidence of Global Warming" I know this addresses people that identify as being a member of a specific party, but I suspect, that specifically, among likely voters, this decrease is even more dramatic.. I wonder what Rasmussen would get for results on this specific poll?
