Well, well, from the looks of it, Obama and his friends at the Nobel Prize Committee have done what no one could do before them: unite the world.

In utter disbelief, of course, but hey, let’s not obsess over details.

At influential Dutch blog Dagelijkse Standaard readers write:

Joshua Livestro: And deservedly so. He gives me hope Sarah Palin will win in 2012.

Jimmy: I’m no Palin-fan but if it means we won’t be bothered by this insane progressive idolatry of Obama she has my vote.

Jamal Yasin: The Nobel Prize in Literature will be next. He’ll have to write his umptieth biography to win that one though.

Frank Verhoef: Congratulations Obama! Please, keep working hard on doing absolutely nothing!

De Snotverlosser: Well done, my Big O, you barely succeeded in defeating Ahmadinejad. By the way, Arafat says ‘hi.’

Carel Kauffman: What peace?

Popular blog GeenStijl is unimpressed as well… Read the whole thing at Hot Air.

C Stanley A commenter at Jules Crittenden's blog wrote something along the lines of "Even Obama must have woken up to this news and gone 'WTF'?" LOL...and I think that's most likely true. I can't imagine that even he would be arrogant enough to think he deserves this. I wonder if SNL will follow up on last week's skit with something on this...

Doomed Disclaimer....I have tried very hard not to fall into the ODS mold of most right anti Obama commenters but I actually think hes not surprised at all. The Saturday night live spoof of him has hard times being played when you try to play it. CNN did an entire segment on it trying to spoof the spoofers. Another spoof of him singing has been yanked from the air. A dozen more spoofs of him have been yanked. "He continually makes the comments....I was elected president last year not...so and so...the most recent being Olympia Snowe" He fears the same tactics are going to be used on him that he's used all his life. Dictatorial control of the media is his big stick. I firmly, firmly believe that and if you have a blog of substance then Obama spammers show up and spam the site with pro Obama propaganda. I do now, fully understand the lefts plea when GWB was in power.....will it ever end.

Just Sayin' The manner in which Obama has continually snubbed our European allies, has only helped to create a new tension and coldness in international affairs. Obama has done NOTHING to promote peace in this world. It appears that the only requirement for winning this prize is to be anti-Semitic, ala Jimmy Carter. The Norwegians just can't help but love a good Socialist/Marxist. I bet that they can tell you how many pimples Obama's got on his azz.

Watts Chinese Human Rights Activist Hu Jia – imprisoned for campaigning for human rights in the PRC, not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama. Wei Jingsheng, who spent 17 years in Chinese prisons for urging reforms of China’s communist system. — not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama. (Not to mention the symbolic value of awarding a Chinese dissident on the 20th Anniversary of the Tianenmen Square Massacre.) Greg Mortenson, founder of the Central Asia Institute has built nearly 80 schools, especially for girls, in remote areas of northern Pakistan and Afghanistan over the past 15 years – not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama. Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, a philosophy professor in Jordan who risks his life by advocating interfaith dialogue between Jews and Muslims, also not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama. Afghan human rights activist Sima Samar. She currently leads the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission and serves as the U.N. special envoy to Darfur and is apparently also not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.
