O yeah. Remember last year? All of us right-of-center bloggers criticized then presidential candidate Barack Obama for his ties to ACORN. He used them in order to win the elections against John McCain and earlier in the race for the presidential nomination of the Democratic Party – and therefore against Hillary Clinton – as well.
Well, we all knew that ACORN was pretty bad, which is why we knew all we had to know about whether or not Obama truly wanted to be ‘different’ than his predecessors.| MORE

That is the question I ask following his assertion that the “overwhelming portion of the animosity toward Barack Obama is racist.” Here is a guy who goes around consorting with known enemies, and basing more of his criticism on Middle Eastern affairs to misdeed of Israel rather than those of Hamas. He may do some good humanitarian work, but he is wrong more than he is right when it comes to politics. By his figuring, my own criticism of Obama’s policies are probably also racist.| MORE

Justin Gardner at Donklephant is depressed that prospects for bipartisanship on health care reform have collapsed. Gardner lays the entire blame on “the right”:
Nobody on the right seems to want to actually compromise on this stuff and it’s beyond frustrating.
My view is that Gardner’s placing of the blame exclusively on “the right” is an expression of the real problem rather than an accurate diagnosis of it.| MORE

Via Volokh, we hear that the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia has issued a ruling dismissing a contrived lawsuit by “birthers” that promulgate various conspiracy theories to the effect that President Obama is not, in fact, a “natural-born citizen” qualified to be President and to exercise the powers of Commander-in-Chief.| MORE

Barrack Obama might be the worst thing that even happened to ACORN. Back in May 2008, the National Review’s Stanley Kurtz wrote:
Obama has had an intimate and long-term association with the Association of Community Organizations for Refore Now (Acorn), the largest radical group in America. If I told you Obama had close ties with MoveOn.org or Code Pink, you’d know what I was talking about.| MORE

In what will no doubt strengthen the hawks’ arguments that George H.W. Bush was weak when it came to foreign policy, the Times of London last week published excerpts of discussion held by former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, former U.S. President George H.W. Bush, and former USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev. At least Thatcher, and it appears, Bush, held concerns that a re-united Germany would regress into a World War II-style dictatorship.

The political left loves to preach about environmental sensitivity, conservation, “sustainability” and cleanup. But, as this photo essay at Gateway Pundit highlights, the contrast between words and deeds is rather striking. The litter left behind by liberal activists and fans at the 2009 inauguration compares rather badly to the relatively clean aftermath of the conservative “tea party” protest that was of similar size and duration.| MORE

Imagine the outcry if, during the Bush administration, a right-wing blogger had been arrested for marijuana possession in a national park only to have the Department of Justice intervene to drop the charges. The outcry would have been deafening, as critics would have charged that the administration was acting to protect its political friends in a way certainly not available to the common person committing the same crime.| MORE

The streets of Washington D.C. are filled with citizens who want President Obama and the Democratic leadership to reconsider the massive government-sponsored reorganization of the nation’s healthcare system.
These protesters, many of them politically involved for the first time in their lives, have come from across the nation with a purpose: to let the federal government know that they do not want any further expansion of federal authority or spending, particularly in the sensitive area of personal health.| MORE

9/11/2001 is day that, like Pearl Harbor, will live in infamy, both because of the Muslim terrorists murdered of nearly 3000 people and western civilization’s reaction to their callous, craven act of violence.
Events of the days that followed demonstrated the best of America, times of great drama and heroics followed by a stirring sense of unity that can only come from – and be maintained in – a time of great national stress.| MORE
