Shortly after European governments sent ‘low ranking’ officials to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s swearing-in ceremony, Europe as a whole complains (Dutch, sadly) that Tehran continues to prosecute individuals who participated in anti-Ahmadinejad protests.
The reason? Well, Europe could not care less about members of the Iranian opposition of course, but it does care about their own citizens. Two of those currently prosecuted are Europeans – one works for the British embassy, the other is French.
As usual, Europe arrived too late at the party. First they told the Iranian opposition to deal with their own problems, they watched as protesters were attacked, prosecuted, tortured and ‘disappeared,’ next they sent representatives to Ahmadinejad’s swearing-in ceremony after an election he lost, but then they act all surprised when the evil Mullahs of Tehran continue to oppress their people and even proceed to lock up Europeans.
What comes around goes around, I’ll say. It’s sad for Rossam – who worked for the Brits – and Reiss – the French teacher – of course, but that’s what happens when you put your trust in your European government. You see, they can’t be trusted. Europe has given in to the demands of non-European dictators for decades now. It is a continent without balls. The first castrated continent in history, you could say.
Prediction: Europe will congratulate Iran with its brand new nuclear weapon next year after which it will pretend to be ‘shocked’ when Iran attempts to wipe Israel off the map.
