Yes, Mo0veOn sent emails to 18,000 union goons:
http://www.freep.com/article/20090807/NEWS06/908070387/Tempers-flare-over-health-care

Advocate Dingell tries to defend proposal

The news release announcing the town hall wasn't issued until Thursday morning, but by 6 p.m., when U.S. Rep. John Dingell's meeting in Romulus began, the word was out and hundreds of people showed up, many intent on disruption.

Scott Hagerstrom, the Michigan director for Americans for Prosperity -- a group opposing President Barack Obama's health care initiative -- said that after he learned about it, he sent an e-mail alerting 18,000 members in southeast Michigan.

This dude's at least accurate. Granted it wasn't the way the minority Dem's cried about back then - but numbers are numbers and a majority rules.

shooter242, pay atention. All you people are doing is convincing the Democrats they need to push this legislation through using the reconciliation progress and strip it completely of everything the republicans wanting in it. And don't whine about it. The republicans did exactly that from 2000 to 2006 - any legislation being considered was completely a republican bill - Democrats were not allowed to attend meetings, offer changes or their views heard or considered. Politics is a two way street and you're about to go for a ride and your Party can only sit there and watch in silence.

Course what he's failing to consider is the Repub's are not a majority due to voter's not appreciating the style of politics (in form or substance). And that has no vaccination.

Liberals should be proud of their constituents.

This dude had a reasonable enough point of view.

I find the characterization "union goons" to be rather ignorant, but in the defense of Shooter242 I do not know that "goon" is really an inaccurate description of the SEIU member in that first video up top. Folks like that are doing our side no great favors. I am all in favor of our side showing up at these town-halls to out-shout the tea-party types, but one crosses the line when one knocks a teabagger down and starts kicking the fellow, justifying the matter by saying "I did not attack him, he attacked health-care."

and then

Let them fight it out. The side with the most goons wins. I'm actually looking for a town hall in my district. I'm going with the intent to beat the crap out of a tea bagger!!!!

Love the calling of GOP as Neanderthals but with really bad spelling.

This GOP effort to disrupt the healtcare townhalls are populated with people that have bought in to so much misinformation as to be completely ignorant of any of the bills under consideration. They have been fired up by Beck, Limbaugh and Hannity, the champions of lies and misinformtion. These guys can only appeal to the undereducated, non-reading, illinformed fools in society. Mostly they are angry people that have not done well financially themselves and are looking to blame others for their plight. They have become incited to become thugs. They respect no one. The should arrest them each and every time they step over the legal line. A few nights in jail and some healthy fines might make some of them cool off a little. Some of them would protest anything simply because we have a black President which they cannot accept. Who in their sane minds would want to bask in the light of these neandrathals?

Partisans on both sides often forget that 40% of a district is a lot of people.

I keep reminding pols of my acquaintance that they are elected to represent their entire district, not just the people who voted for them. Some of them even listen.

Partisans on both sides often forget that 40% of a district is a lot of people. There are Democrats who live in safe Republican districts who get pretty frustrated with things also : and all the result of gerrymandering, restricted ballots, and other measures that have corrupted and divided politics for years.

Yelling isn't necessarily constructive, but there should also be no complaints that yelling is prohibiting fair debate, by the way---Democrats have had a chance to involve Republicans more in the process in Congress, Obama had a chance to hold a town hall meeting where more critical views were discussed, and ABC could have aired a Republican response to Obama's press event.

That's why this is happening at all. It would be difficult to see the election of Obama as a mandate for the Democrat's health care plan, since most of the election coverage was superficial, with no real serious dialogue. Having this kind of discussion before the election would have prevented this.
