hugo-chavez-dictatorVenezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez is proposing a new round of attack on media outlets not yet under government control. Under the proposed new rules, any media outlets that criticize Chavez or his policies could be subject to criminal prosecution in addition to their loss of broadcast licenses.

Of course, those “progressives” who added Chavez to their Castro/Che pantheon of socialist heroes find these reports inconvenient and thus ignore them. But these blatant exposures of the repressive nature of Chavez’ politics is becoming increasingly difficult to avoid.
