mitch mcconnellSpeaking with MSNBC’s “Meet the Press,” the Senate’s top Republican, Senator Mitch McConnell, said Sunday that although he admires Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s personal story, he will not vote for her confirmation to the Supreme Court.

McConnell said he is a “big fan” of her biography and career but that he has a problem with her personal views.

He believes Sotomayor is not objective enough to be a good Supreme Court justice and he is worried that her personal views will influence her rulings from the bench.

Although McConnell has made the right decision not to vote for Sotomayor’s confirmation, at least three other Republicans have already said they support President Obama’s nominee. Once again, the GOP is divided because of a few renegade senators. Senators who love to be worshipped by the Old Media as ‘moderates’ and ‘pragmatists,’ when in fact they are nothing but opportunists.

  1. Michael Merritt I'm not sure that I can agree with you. Too often I see people like Joe Lieberman labeled in a similar way by the Democrats (like here). Thus it's difficult to impossible for me to do this for Republicans if I don't know their actual intentions. But maybe you've looked into it more than I have.
