palinAlaska Governor Sarah Palin’s PAC (SarahPAC) raked in more than $700,000 in the first six months of 2009, Politico reported yesterday.

Although I have to admit that I was not very impressed when I read her PAC had collected $733,000 (that’s the exact number) thus far this year, I have to agree with Dan Riehl that it is certainly “not bad,” and that it forces other Republicans to take her serious. This woman has been under attack from day one. Liberal journalists have tried to destroy her for almost a year now. Yet, she can count on the support of many millions of hard working conservative Americans, who also happen to form the backbone of the Republican Party.

In short: you don’t have to be a fan of Palin yourself, but you’d better realize that many other people are.

    Kastanj "Liberal journalists have tried to destroy her for almost a year now." Aided and abetted by Sarah Palin herself, on many occasions... Applying criticism isn't "destroying". I'll readily admit not all attacks on her are valid or in proper form, but this goes for all public figures. The fact that the attacks on her are plentiful is simply because she is... So particular. The unquestioning fawning and support of her could be just as plentiful, and the emotional reactions don't only come from her detractors. Getting special treatment always has a backside. If you go out there and say that people are paling around with terrorists, and present yourself as the gatekeeper of poor John Q's wallet when your state is #1 in pork... You're going to get hounded. No special treatment for people just because they try to portray themselves as humble, folksy and more down-to-earth.
