The author of this screed forgot to mention that Fox News cherry picked the video of Al Gore’s testimony to exclude where all his profits are donated. Here is the part of the quote left out by Fox:
“But every penny that I have made, I have put right into a nonprofit, the Alliance for Climate Protection, to spread awareness of why we have to take on this challenge.”

Al Gore is a fraud, trying to get rich by creating hysteria about non-existent “global warming”. Gore should be tried, convicted, and locked up for the rest of his life for this giant fraud.
“Crying Wolf” when there is no wolf, means that someday when there is a genuine
threat, everybody will figure its just another Gore crying “Wolf”.
Shame on Gore.

I think we need to contact our legislators and pass two very important future laws to help fight Global Warming:
1. We need a bill to remove summer from the list of official seasons of the year so that its not as hot.
2. We need to make it illegal to breathe out so we don’t contribute Carbon Dioxide into the air.
Please contact your legislators TODAY to support these above two actions in our fight against Global Warming!

The heading is a statement. The first paragraph turns it into a question. Then the authoritative source is one of the worst misinformation and disinformation crusaders in the world – Marc Morano. Then the statement about concerns with Gore’s behavior is nothing more than a mishmash of evasive nonsense. However, the real point is right here: “Question: do you want your tax dollars be wasted on projects that will turn Al Gore into ‘the first climate change billionaire’?” mmmm, actually yes. It’s time to fess up that a cleanup can be profitable. The article evades the real downside – no cleanup will chip away the wealth of every single one of us.

I’m not an Al Gore apologist (see my comments on the last thread of Global Warming), but if he believes green technologies are the wave of the future, I see no problem with him investing in them, and I also see no problem with him petitioning the government to support these industries. I would expect no less from a person who believes that these industries are vital to our planet’s future.
On the other hand, if his motive in petitioning government is to make himself money, then that’s another story. But motive is a difficult thing to prove. Just showing that he has money invested in green companies is not enough, in my opinion, because as I said in the first paragraph, it is reasonable to invest in companies you believe in.
And, if Gore claims, the money he makes goes to his charity, then this is a moot point. You could argue that the charity is not really a charity but an organization pushing a view-point, but either way the money does not go to lining Gore’s pockets.
(P.S. I’m not usually a big fan of media matters, but the article Mark linked to seems right on. When you read the portion of the interview that was cut, it seems shameful to me that O’Reilly, who I respect most of the time, cut it up like that).

It may go against the comments policy here, and it’s unfortunate in any case, but the article above cannot be accurately described as anything but a pack of reprehensible lies. Not the author’s lies, to be sure, but lies nonetheless.
Al Gore is only a spokesman, and he took up global warming as a cause many years before he wised up and put himself in a position to profit if he were correct – as any smart venture capitalist does. Refusing the cash is just the icing on the cake here.
Pretending Al Gore has any power down at the statehouse is also a non-starter, he hasn’t held a position of political power in years. No real conflict of interest is even possible.
If testimony before Congress were limited to people who cannot profit from government actions, there’d be very little of it. Certainly the absence of the oil and gas companies, bankers, and multinational corporations – not to mention Mr. Morano himself – would leave a massive gap that could never be filled, no matter how many clones of individual spokespersons one might produce. =)
The insanity of believing anything Marc Morano has to say on the subject could, of course, fill another article. Google him and see.

In jolly old England there was a judgement against schools that show, “An Inconvenient truth.” The schools were required to give a disclaimer about it being fiction before indoctrinating students about global warming.
Too many kids were going home and telling their parents that the end is near.
As it turns out, some of the disturbing footage attemting to show distruction from global warming was computer generated.
Of course, the movie also portrayed global warming as beyond dispute in the scientific community.

All of this hysteria in government action in the war against global warming has created two sides to invest on. Right now companies that contribute heavily to global warming are scared of being taxed heavily by the government and being capped. So what do they do? They have sold out for pennies to large investors who are essentially lobbying the hell out of Congress to kill all green bills and make ten times their money back in all these high carbon emitting companies they've invested in. More modern blood money only this time it is at the expense of later generations. As history has shown, the people usually don't mind so much when they cannot see those dying to increase the bank accounts of a few.
Enter Al Gore.
Al Gore and friends are doing the exact opposite. They have invested in companies that would benefit from green bills either directly via grants, or indirectly via the elimination of competitors that do not meet new carbon standards and are unable to adapt.
Al Gore knows that in order to be effective in passing green legislation there needs to be money on the side of green. At the same time he makes some money to pass on to his kids and donate the rest to non profits. I cannot see how anyone would see this as "wrong" on ANY level unless you are just naive in the realities of politics and ideologies.

And don't let those investors in high carbon emitting companies pull the wool over your eyes about global warming. They have only started to claim that global warming is a hoax AFTER they have all invested in companies that DESPERATELY NEED to defeat Green Legislation.
Don't be dumb. Global Warming was an issue for the LONGEST TIME. We all know that later generations will suffer. But now suddenly there is lots and lots of money at stake in the wake of legislatures around the world taking action to curb global warming. And what happens?? SUDDENLY scientists claim that global warming doesn't exist and ignore what we've learned of unregulated industrialization of the past 100 years???? Don't be dumb, they've all been bought out by grants from these investors or are hacks.

“After all, aren’t Gore and his buddies the ones who declared war on Big Business decades ago”
How do you define “declare war”? I mean, I’m definitely not for imposing anything more on corporations than necessary (or as a matter of principle), but if you can argue for a degree of emission fees, environmental standards etc., I wouldn’t call that war.
“and who turn automakers and oil companies into ‘the mortal enemy’?”
Is this an actual quote?
“Gore invests heavily in ‘green companies.’ These companies lobby hard to get subsidies and projects awarded by the US Congress. Right, the place where most of Gore’s buddies work.”
Yeah, I’m not for lobbying at all. Gore should invest in companies that can pull their own weight, and US politicians should only issue contracts and subsidies to green corporations and labs that can earn it. Market forces aren’t perfect, but they are probably the best way to get the best entity for the job. Gore is doing the right thing the wrong way, and unless he can represent the issue in a suitable manner he should stop.
“Question: do you want your tax dollars be wasted on projects that will turn Al Gore into ‘the first climate change billionaire’?”
Wasted? No. If he makes some money in a scientifically and economically sound process then I would be delighted to see him make more money (mostly because it would drive more unreasonable and acerbic people crazy), but I don’t want him to espouse imperfect solutions to a serious problem because he can’t be bothered to take the longer, better route.
