I have no idea how to interpret this:

Iran is ready to hold talks with the group of six world powers over its controversial nuclear programme, Saeed Jalili, a top official with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said on Monday.

Iranian news agency ISNA reported that Jalili had a conversation by telephone with EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana in which he expressed the Islamic republic’s willingness to hold discussion over its nuclear drive.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes discussion with the group of six for a constructive cooperation”, Jalili told Solana, the ISNA report said.

Thoughts from any of our readers? I’m thinking:
1. Iran isn’t looking forward to more sanctions
2. The country is suffering so much under the current sanctions that it may be willing to allow the West to send nuclear observers
3. Ahmadinejad et alia are stalling for time
4. They realize that Obama’s friendly gestures in recent weeks force them to reach out as well, or at least pretend to be doing so
5. Iran is getting closer and closer to develop its first nuclear bomb and its leaders are preparing for it
6. And there are a host of other options

What do you think?
