More horrifying testimonies from Israeli soldiers were published in the Haaretz yesterday:

Dead babies, mothers weeping on their children’s graves, a gun aimed at a child and bombed-out mosques – these are a few examples of the images Israel Defense Forces soldiers design these days to print on shirts they order to mark the end of training, or of field duty. The slogans accompanying the drawings are not exactly anemic either:MORE

The economic crisis is causing misery everywhere. Employees of major banks, insurance companies, big industrial plants, high tech companies, and so on are all in trouble. We knew that already.

What we didn’t know yet, however, is that prostitutes are suffering as well. Hoa Quach reports for San Diego News Network about their struggle:

The competition for clients is intensifying as the recession continues, local prostitute Shay aka Pocahontas  said.MORE

I pretty much agree with what MichaelvdG said in his first article on the reported killings of unarmed civilians by IDF soldiers, and the supposed “don’t care about who you kill” attitude behind it.  However, the reason he gives for why this type of attitude might have arisen is not the only one that can be applied.  Michael writes:MORE

On Wednesday, I praised Jon Stewart for his criticism of the Obama administration about the VA insurance debacle.  On Thursday, seemingly stemming from the Jim Cramer interview, but perhaps spurred by my own article, Jason pointed out an (perhaps to liberals) inconvenient truth: Jon Stewart plays two games.MORE

Here’s a video of Tim Geithner at a House Ways and Means hearing on March 3, 2009. In it, Geithner can be seen responding to bonuses to be paid in weeks.

Why is this video important? Because Geithner recently said he only found out about the AIG bonuses March 10.

Little Green Footballs reports that Obama will receive a “Newsmaker of the Year” award from the National Newspaper Publishers Assn. due to his promise to make government transparant again.

Ironically, the Obama White House has closed the press award ceremony to the press.

Swedish conservative-liberal Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt lashed out at EU members yesterday that advocate borrowing huge sums of money in order to spend their way out of the economic crisis:

A lot of E.U. member countries are now in huge deficits. That’s a problem now and will be a problem for the future.” (…) Reinfeldt also played down disagreement between the E.U. and the U.S. on ways to stave off the economic crisis.MORE

The Turkish economy has collapsed:

Budget spending totaled 25.8 billion TL ($15.1 billion) in February, while the budgetary income was 18.4 billion TL ($10.8 billion), the ministry said…

The International Monetary Fund expects the Turkish economy to shrink 1.5 percent this year, but economists say it may contract as much as 7 percent.MORE
