The conservative blogosphere was set ablaze late yesterday after Protein Wisdom’s Jeff Goldstein published a post about Pajamas Media’s decision to do away with its ad network. Goldstein was informed about this decision after PJM sent him an e-mail announcing the changes.
To say that the email angered Goldstein is a slight understatement. He – and others like Ace of Spades – feel betrayed by Pajamas Media.| MORE

Damon Linker writes at The New Republic that it’s not beyond the pale to think that Barack Obama may be able to lead liberals to a victory in the decades-old culture war. How? By subtle, gradual conversion away from conservative positions on 3 traditional value issues: Church/State Separation, Homosexual Rights/Gay Marriage, and Abortion.| MORE

The Furious Passage of Tayyip Erdogan

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano wants to expel what she calls “criminal aliens” from the United States, starting with those already in custody. Napolitano also says that she’s looking at existing immigration enforcement programs to see if taxpayers are getting their money’s worth.

Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) had some unpleasant words to say about the Democrat’s economic stimulus plan:
Not since the passage in 1909 of the 16th Amendment – which cleared the way for a federal income tax – has the United States seriously entertained a policy so comprehensively hostile to economic freedom, nor so arrogantly indifferent to economic reality. …
This bill is not a stimulus, ladies and gentlemen; it is a mugging. It is a fraud.| MORE

Reader Christine Stanley rightfully points out that the tax cuts the republican party demands are promises Obama made earlier this month. He said that 40 percent of the bailout plan would consist out of tax cuts. He broke with that promise during negotiations however probably because of opposition from fellow democrats.
We should also keep in mind that the so-called bipartisan negotiations consisted out Obama telling republicans they had to support his plan because he ‘won’ the elections.| MORE

My, my, I wonder why this isn’t reported by most big news organizations:
A big women’s basketball game between No. 2 Oklahoma and No. 4 Baylor just gained added prestige.
Former President George W. Bush and wife Laura attended Wednesday’s game. The two entered several minutes before the opening tip, flanking Lady Bears coach Kim Mulkey, and received a prolonged standing ovation from the fans at the Ferrell Center.>| MORE

Rasmussen reports that support for the stimulus plan proposed by Democrats and passed by them in the U.S. House of Representatives goes down; only 42% of Americans support the plan. This despite a PR offensive launched by Democrats days ago.
To sum up:
1. Republicans voted against the plan
2. They then offered an alternative plan which would cost 50% less yet result in twice as many jobs (saved and / or created)
3.| MORE

It took him a while, but Governor Mitt Romney has finally spoken out strongly against the economy stimulus package passed by Congress Wednesday. Romney criticized Democrats for passing the bill arguing it ‘includes too much unnecessary spending, doesn’t include enough tax cuts, and has way too many projects that wouldn’t happen in the next two years.’
“We have a short-term economic boost that’s needed, and this bill does not do that,” Romney said on MSNBC.| MORE
