The latest Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll shows that Sen. John McCain continues to close the gap with Sen. Barack Obama. According to the poll released Saturday, Obama now has a 5-point lead.

If not, said experts have said in recent weeks, it could be much closer on election day than the ‘mainstream media’ have told us. (more…)

The controversy surrounding the tape that’s in the LA Times’ possession (which they should release), where Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama toasts Khalidi at a going away party before Khalidi left to become a professor at Colombia University, has been reported here at Poligazette.
However, Republican presidential candidate has his own connection to the pro-Palestinian Khalidi. Namely: McCain is the chair of an institution that gave money to an organization set up by Khalidi.

Libya paid victims (and their family members) $1.5 billion in recent weeks as compensation for their suffering. This opens the door to a considerable improvement in Libyan-American relations, which Libya has wanted for years.

Team McCain continues to come across as highly positive, determined, focused and energetic. Where most people made fun of the Republican ticket for weeks, due to a perceived lack of direction and energy, even liberal journalists are now seemingly impressed.
“We are pretty jazzed up about what we are seeing in the movement of this election,” McCain’s campaign manager Rick Davis told reporters on a conference call Friday. (more…)

For the first time, former Israeli leader Yitzhak Rabin’s assassin spoke with reporters about his decision to assassinate Rabin.
Yigal Amir, extreme Zionist, killed Rabin at a Tel Aviv rally on Nov. 4, 1995. Amir considered Rabin a traitor for signing the Oslo peace accords in 1993.
He told Israel’s Channel 10 TV, an interview recorded secretly, that he was inspired to kill Rabin by right-wing politicians such as Ariel Sharon, Rehavam Zeevi and Rafael Eitan. (more…)
