A video shot in 2004 of Barack Obama surfaced on YouTube on Friday, in which Obama can be seen praising socialist politician Danny Davis and telling the crowd at a rally that he and Davis “share the same values.”

According to many conservative American bloggers, the ties between Davis and Obama go way back, to the socialist New Party, about which Obama does not want to share much information.

“You just heard of one of the best Congressmen in the country, and the reason he’s one of the best Congressmen in the country is that he shares our values,” Obama said back in 2004 when presenting himself as a moderate wasn’t useful.

“He believes in a decent wage,” an almost angry Obama shouts in the video, “for a days work. He believes that we shouldn’t be investing $87 billion Iraq when we can’t invest $87 billion right here, on the west side of Chicago.”

“And he believes like all of us believe,” Obama went on to say in words every European with some knowledge about socialists and social democrats recognize instantly, “that corporations have an obligation to the worker and to the community. And I am looking forward to go on to the United States Senate and help him fight that fight… and I will fight that fight… to make sure that each and every one of you get the kind of treatment that we deserve. This is the only way we can build a middle class in America.”
