Good news for those in the prostitution industry who feared for their job due to the economic crisis; you are not in trouble. When stock markets collapse, alcohol and sex sell better than anything else; men are depressed, so they drink and find themselves a woman.

Yes, I put it rather blunt, but it’s the truth.

Now, there’s also bad news for prostitutes: they can no longer charge customers $1500 an hour. The amount of individuals who can afford such a price dicreases significantly during times of crisis.

Instead, they should lower prices to somewhere between $200 and $250 an hour.

Why, some readers may think, would PoliGazette cover the prostitution industry and even go so far as to give advise to prostitutes? Well, as Ronald Reagan once said, (if)* politics is the second oldest profession, it bares a close resemblance to the first, prostitution. Take, for instance, the Democrats in Congress. They are ACORN’s political prostitutes. We cover that, so why shouldn’t we cover regular prostitution as well? The only difference is that the latter kind isn’t paid for by tax payers money which, one could argue, makes it morally less depraved.

* Not prostitution but agriculture is in reality the oldest profession, of course.
