Senator Barack Obama’s half brother, George Hussein Onyango Obama, has only met his brother twice in his life; when he was five years old and back in 2005, when Barack visited Kenya, the country where his father came from.
During Barack’s visit George only had a few minutes to talk to his older brother. After the short conversation both went their separate ways.* (more…)

‘A water pipeline is being planned to link Turkey with drought-hit northern Cyprus in a bid to ease a critical water shortage on the Mediterranean island, an official said on Thursday.
‘The Turkish Cypriot administration in the north of the island believes a 60 km (37 mile) pipeline running between southern Turkey and northern Cyprus could carry up to 75 million cubic meters of water annually.’ (more…)

This is a news alert: Russia has, again, responded to the American deal with Poland. As reported earlier, Poland agreed to host a part of the American-invented missile defense system. Russia warned a couple of days ago already that such a deal would make Poland a ‘nuclear target.’
Today Russia announced that its response to this deal “will go beyond diplomacy.” (more…)

In direct response to the Russian invasion of Georgia, the United States and Poland signed a deal on Wednesday. The deal means that Poland will host 110 interceptor missiles just 115 miles from Russia’s Western border.
Russia responded to the plan a couple of weeks ago; a high ranking general said Poland had now become a nuclear target. (more…)

We can now definitely say that Senator John McCain has a serious chance of winning the elections in November; according to the latest Zogby/Reuters poll, he has opened a lead of 5%. That’s for the first time in months that McCain has taken such a lead. Better; it’s for the first time this campaign. (more…)

The bodily remains of a clerk who was adopted have been found. She was killed by her abductor, not long after he forced her to come with him under gunpoint.
What makes this story different is the fact that the abduction was taped on video. The crime of abduction was caught by security cameras. The murderer pointed his gun at the cleric after which he forced her to get in his car. When she did, her fate was doomed. (more…)
