Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf resigned earlier on Monday. His resignation came after the opposition started an impeachment procedure against him while the military remained neutral.
The main criticism against Musharraf during his eight-year long rule was that the country did not make any progress moving to democracy. (more…)

McCain campaign manager Rick Davis requested a meeting with Steve Capus, president of NBC News, Sunday. The reason for the request was, in the words of Davis, NBC’s decision to abandon “non-partisan coverage of the Presidential race.”
Davis made the request in a letter he sent to NBC yesterday. It’s part of ‘an aggressive effort by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) to counter news coverage he considers’ biased against him and in favor of Barack Obama, the Democratic leader. (more…)

Breitbart is a columnist for the Washington Times. His column in which he describes Azerbaijan and its importance to the U.S. has been published. I suggest you all read it; I think many if not all on the trip would agree with his message. (more…)

CNN (relevant part of interview at about 1:20) and the New York Times are reporting that John McCain was not in the “cone of silence” that Rev. Rick Warren suggested he would be in for part of the time of the hour Barack Obama took questions from the pastor. As you can see in the CNN interview, Rev. Warren admits as much. It turns out that McCain’s motorcade was stuck in traffic and was about half an hour late in arriving to Saddleback Church.| MORE
