The New York Times reports that the Associated Press ‘said that it will, for the first time, attempt to define clear standards as to how much of its articles and broadcasts bloggers and Web sites can excerpt without infringing on The A.P.’s copyright.’ (more…)

A Turkish scientist who did research in the official Russian archives, has found a document that clearly disputes just about everything Armenian activists said during World War I and now, about their own conduct and that of the Turks / Ottomans. Before looking at the document, and quoting it, it has to be pointed out that those of us who are actually honest don’t take these things at face value alone; the document has to be authenticated. However, it’s reasonably save to publish it here since the chance that it is not authentic is not that big. (more…)

We’ll do a daily series on serious topics. Every time we outline the plans of both John McCain and Barack Obama on a given subject, and then ask you what you think about the issue of the day. Do you agree with Obama or McCain. Or do you disagree with both? If so, what do you suggest? Lets have a discussion on things that actually matter. Yahoo! News has an interesting article up about conservative African-Americans who are thinking about throwing their support behind Barack Obama, the first-ever black nominee for a major political party in the United States. They are torn between their ideological beliefs (politically), and the connection they feel with Obama because of his skin-color. Additionally, they understand that Obama may write history by winning, which would be an important step and victory for all African-Americans, or so they think. (more…)

I actually think this could be quite a good idea. Richardson has a lot of experience and knowledge. Also important for Obama is that Richardson may be able to get Hispanics to vote for the Democratic presidential candidate come November.

Having said that, would that not alienate an important base of the Democratic Party, namely (feminist) women?

Of course they did. And to those who actually read this website, well, the reasons are clear.
