ElectionSnark goes missing for 3 days. Clinton and Obama campaigns both demand that the other apologize. McCain campaign manager jumps up and down in tie-dye clown suit screaming, “We Are Still Here, Dammit!”
Even stories headlined to be about McCain are mostly about Obama.
Obama and Clinton both win 4 half-delegates in primary voting on Guam. Entire nation half-cares. Almost. Plus or minus0.1%.

In light of the recent pronouncement from the Swiss Federal Ethics Committee on Non-Human Biotechnology regarding the fundamental rights of vegetation, (The dignity of living beings with regard to plants [pdf]), I expect new terms to crop up shortly as labels for the new class of offenses. Look for them to be used first in Canada, of course. Mark Steyn, watch out! Here’s a sample of what’s coming:

Robert Reich, a former Clinton Secretary of Labor who now favors Barack Obama, says that the gas tax holiday Ms. Clinton supports – as does John McCain – is "economically stupid" and would increase demand for gas while costing the government $9B to finance. And he’s not alone.

The events of Turkey’s 2008 edition of May Day passed in a predictable fashion. Roughly 500 protesters were reportedly arrested, Turkish police exploded tear gas bombs in front of hospital entrances, protesters were pulverized by water cannons and beaten by batons. As is typically the case during such crack downs, the actually number of people taken into custody undoubtedly exceeded official figures.>| MORE

A new Rasmussen telephone poll shows that only 30% of Americans believe that Barack Obama broke with Jeremiah Wright because of his disgust with the former pastor’s racially-charged statements.
Most—58%–say he denounced the Pastor for political convenience.

Texas Congressman Chet Edwards (D) wants to use the U.S.’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve to lower prices at the gas pump. Needless to say, I think this is a bad idea, for reasons I list below.
He says the increased supply would help halt rising gas prices which are predicted to hit $4 per gallon by summer.

Monica Conyers is the wife of Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) and a member (and President Pro Tem) of the Detroit City Council. She’s in a beef with the Council president, Kenneth Cockrel, and during a recent meeting of the Council began an insulting exchange with him. The exchange culminated with her calling him “Shrek,” which in context was clearly intended as an insult.| MORE
