Panic in Tibet: Angry Tibetan students raided a UN building in Katmandu. They broke in, told the UN officials to get off their butts and to finally help their people fight the Chinese oppressor. Well, it didn’t really go like that: they were very friendly and were, as a reward, “served lunch of steamed dumplings.” (more…)

Senator Hillary Clinton has told supporters not to vote for John McCain if she isn’t able to win the Democratic nomination. “First of all, every time you have a vigorous contest like we are having in this primary election people get intense,” she said. But although there are significant differences between her and Obama “those differences pale to the differences between us and Sen. McCain.” (more…)

These 3 events have at least 2 things in common. What are they?
First, the father who microwaved his 2-month-old “loves his baby” and today refused to give up his parental rights.
Second, some un-heroic Transportation Security Administration workers have been accused of having forced a woman to remove her nipple piercings with pliers in order to board her domestic flight.
Third, a Dallas strip club that allowed a 12-year-old girl to dance nude won’t be shut down.

I think that a McCain-Romney ticket would make a lot of sense. Romney would take some desperately needed economic knowledge with him, and he’s quite a few years younger than McCain: he’s able to take over after a possible McCain presidency. Timothy Ziemer gave in 1996. Only problem: Ziemer used lines from a speech given by McCain back in 1995. In other words: Ziemer was the one doing the, um, borrowing. (more…)

Although many of those who actually watched “Fitna” say that it was less ‘hardcore’ then they thought it would be – and some even calling it boring – or that it contained little to nothing new (there were also many who thought it was powerful of course, but those people already agreed with Wilders), the Dutch government has decided that whenever someone makes a movie linking Islam to terrorism (for now lets not argue about whether the link is correct or not) it has to talk to so-called Muslim organizations. At least we didn’t ship fuses for nuclear warheads to Colombia.
From Reuters :
Colombia seizes uranium from leftist guerrillas
BOGOTA, March 26 (Reuters) – Colombia said it seized at least 66 pounds (30 kg) of uranium from the country’s biggest left-wing rebel group on Wednesday, the first time radioactive material has been linked to the four-decade-old guerrilla war.| MORE

Well, talking about moderate Muslims, I think it’s safe to say that CAIR isn’t exactly moderate. According to quite a thorough investigation, some leaders of CAIR “have committed criminal acts themselves; others have ties to organizations with connections to Islamic extremism.” (more…)

A friend of mine, and reader of this blog, Kemal, has written a guest post for PoliGazette in response to an op-ed by Mustafa Akyol, which was published in the Wall Street Journal. As you all will know, we encourage readers to send us their opinions; if we like what they write – we don’t have to agree with it of course – we’ll publish it. Here’s Kemal’s post called “Countering AKP Propaganda.” (more…)
