Watch an interesting video of Michelle Obama giving a speech at the University of South Carolina. The speech as a whole is quite interesting, but this one remark once again exposes her true feelings about America.

Nice: yet another adviser to Senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama has shown his true face. This time it’s General Merrill “Tony” McPeak, Obama’s senior military adviser and co-chair of his presidential campaign. McPeak is a longtime Israel critic, but became famous recently for comparing Bill Clinton to Senator Joe McCarthy. YNet shows just what kind of person McPeak is: to call him anti-Israel is to put it mildly. (more…)

Oops. It seems that most members of the far left blogosphere have truly completely had it with Hillary Clinton. Why? Well, she has committed the ultimate deadly sin: she told a newspaper that Wright wouldn’t have been her pastor. Hate speech, she said, should never be tolerated, not in any setting. This means that when your preacher starts talking in an anti-Semitic and anti-American and racist way, you walk out of Church. (more…)

Well, good news. Depends on one’s definition of good. If one believes that good means that Iraq is even more chaotic than usual, it’s good. If one believes that success equals good well, it’s not such good news after all. So what’s going on? Well, it seems that the Mahdi army is back. (more…)

I obviously agree with just about nothing Geert Wilders thinks and says, but I think it’s important to show this video of Wilders being interviewed by Fox News nonetheless. It’s newsworthy and, of course, there’s a grand debate going on in Europe about Islam, and Wilders certainly isn’t the only one who thinks that Islam is inherently violent. (Via Macsmind) (more…)

Just when you thought that it couldn’t get any worse: first NY Governor Eliot Spitzer is forced to resign after word comes out that he went to the hookers on a regular basis. Then David Paterson becomes the new Governor; immediately he admits that he and his wife both had extramarital affairs in the past. And then, you won’t believe this, the Governor admits that he has a drug past. (more…)

In a move that highlights the potential for mass chaos at the Democratic Convention, Florida Congressman Tim Mahoney is floating the idea of a super-delegate coalition throwing both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama overboard in favor of…wait for it…Al Gore.

While much has been made by the Obama camp of the destructiveness of super-delegates frustrating the will of 51% of Democratic primary voters, the potential of frustrating the will of 100% of Democratic primary voters would be infinitely worse.MORE

We are winning the War in Iraq.

President Bush says so. Vice President Cheney agrees. And GOP Presidential nominee John McCain, who just got back from Baghdad, says we’re on the verge of victory.

Indeed, violence is down significantly in most parts of the country. The Iraqi parliament is moving slowly toward passing important legislation that would help reconcile the factions. A recent poll on Iraq found the people more hopeful about the future.

One of the most striking things in my contacts with today’s college students is their lack of awareness of their age-group peers in the military. Today’s college students often know little more about the military than they could obtain from movies like Top Gun and Full Metal Jacket, both now over a generation obsolete even if they ever did reflect reality. And Hollywood today prioritizes dogmatic anti-war messages over anything even vaguely reflecting the actual lives of military people.MORE
