The Washington Post reports that FBI agents witnessed 26 incidents of possible mistreatment at Guantanamo Bay. An example: an interrogator ‘squatted’ on a Koran in an attempt to break the (terror) suspect. On a different occasion, interrogators seemed to have duct-taped a suspect because he “would not stop quoting the Koran”.

Just when you thought the Iranian leadership could stoop no further: A top advisor to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad claimed in an interview with Iranian website Baztab that Nazi leader Adolf Hitler’s parents were both Jewish and that Hitler himself was one of the founders of the State of Israel.MORE

I am currently reading Fyodor Dostoevsky’s “Crime and Punishment”. Although most call it a ‘detective’, it is much more than that. Although I have not finished reading it yet, I already feel confident in saying that this book constitutes a fantastic start of a new literary year.MORE
